Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides essential addiction recovery and mental health treatment and support to individuals in need. We offer effective, evidence-based substance abuse treatment for individuals who have successfully completed or may not need an inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation program, but might require a more intensive program than standard outpatient.
Adult partial hospitalization programs provide a vital bridge between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment. Patients in our adult partial hospital programs can access comprehensive and structured treatment while being able to work, go to school, and otherwise continue with their daily responsibilities outside of treatment. Services include medical supervision, individual and group counseling, and behavioral health therapy.
In addition to substance abuse and mental health support, patients in our adult partial hospital program can also receive limited general medical services if they do not currently have access to a primary care provider. Sunrise performs certain health tests and screenings, including blood counts, kidney and liver function, pregnancy, and HIV to coordinate care with health care providers.
Our partial hospitalization program is designed to address the needs of those struggling with substance abuse in our community. It is an ideal option for individuals who require more support than what is typically available in traditional outpatient settings. Sunrise provides safe, comprehensive, and evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders, particularly opioid use disorder. Our team customizes programs based on each patient's unique needs, preferences, and goals for treatment, ensuring more targeted and effective care. While each treatment plan is individualized, the goal is always to provide efficient and effective support to help patients reintegrate into daily life.
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a structured addiction recovery program that provides comprehensive treatment to individuals who require a higher level of care than traditional outpatient therapy, but do not require the full 24-hour supervision provided by inpatient hospitalization. Participants attend the program during the day and return home in the evenings. PHP typically consists of a combination of individual and group counseling, medication management, behavioral therapy, and other therapeutic activities designed to address and manage addiction and improve overall quality of life. It is often recommended for individuals transitioning from inpatient hospitalization or for those who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy can provide.
In a PHP, individuals receive intensive addiction treatment while still living at home or in a community setting. The program typically involves structured individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy, medication management, and medical services. PHPs aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals struggling with substance use disorder, allowing them to receive the necessary care and medical supervision during the day while still maintaining the flexibility and independence of living outside a hospital setting.
The duration of PHPs can vary depending on the individual's needs and progress. Typically, these programs are designed to provide intensive addiction treatment and support for individuals who require a structured and therapeutic environment but do not need 24-hour care. Patients attend sessions for several hours a day, 5 to 7 days a week, usually for a total of about 20 hours per week. On average, PHPs last for 2 to 3 weeks, though some may last for a few months.
The length of the program can be adjusted based on the individual's progress and treatment goals. The goal of a PHP is to provide comprehensive treatment and support until the individual is ready to transition to a less-intensive level of care, such as outpatient therapy or community-based support services.
